The National Economic and Social Council (NESC) Act 2001
was passed by the National Assembly in December 2001 and
proclaimed to come into operation on the 12 April 2002.
Our mission
The Act provides for the establishment and management of
the National Economic and Social Council whose object is to
foster consensus-building through dialogue among social partners
including civil society and help address economic and social
issues facing the nation.
